We have been so very busy these past few months. We had such a wonderful Christmas visiting with Chris's brother, wife, and new baby Hector. We spent the new year with my family here in Arlington - but missed my little brother Neal. He has been in Afghanistan now for 2 months. They are getting ready for a major marine offensive, and we are just thinking about him and his safety each day.
We have also been snowed in for days. I cannot believe that DC has gotten this much snow this year. I am scared to go back to school next week...the kids are not going to know what to do with themselves! We have enjoyed the extra time at home though - we played a ton of solitaire, cooked a few good meals, and spent some quality time playing with the dogs. Real life is about to begin again - but before it does Chris's folks will be coming for a visit...to help us tile our bathroom. We tore out the wallpaper with the intentions of just painting, but the walls were in such bad shape that we had to tear them out. So, we figured we would just go ahead and give it an overhaul. We got a great deal on some gorgeous glass tile, and will be redoing the shower in glass and then putting subway tile with a glass strip halfway up the walls! It is going to be a long few days.
Here's hoping spring is just around the corner, and keep Neal and his fellow Marines in your thoughts.
